When to use remote vs. local
- Use remote when: you want to try something immediately, you'd rather not install a runtime locally, or the service inherently talks to the vendor's cloud anyway (most official SaaS servers).
- Use local when: you need access to files or databases on your own machine, or you don't want requests routed through a third party — credentials and data both pass through them.
Before you connect
A remote endpoint moves requests and potentially credentials into another operator's boundary. Verify identity, auth, scopes, retention, and subprocessors first; TrustScore summarizes public maintenance and adoption signals, not transport content or server-side security.

How to connect and verify a URL
- Resolve the operator, endpoint source, HTTPS, authentication method, and requested permissions.
- Add the URL at a private/local client scope before sharing it with a team.
- Confirm discovery and the capability list, then run one minimal non-destructive call.
- Record the client, endpoint, auth scope, result, and test date—never the token.
